Rainbow Valley &

Mushroom Rock

This is our second trip to Rainbow Valley. This was an evening trip and we did not take the van, still paying on that repair.  Take a 4x4 with you on this trip.  It is not bad but the last part is very deep sand.

Rainbow Valley (and Mushroom Rock) is located 112km South of Alice Springs. The ride is really nice. I tried to make sure that these photos were all different from the last set. If you enjoy these, take a look at the first set.

Behind Rainbow, there is a path. Follow it back to this unique rock, Mushroom Rock it is called.
RBVAL1		 The pores in Mushroom rock reminded me of the moon photos you see. Very cool!
RBVAL2		 This is the back half of Mushroom Rock. This rock formation reminded me of a table set under a awning.

Us!!! It was pretty romantic under this rock. :-)

Rainbow Valley changes as the seconds pass. Check out this and the next two.
RBVAL8b		 This is just prior to sunset. Amazing how the rock changes color. The next one has a moon over the west side. Take a look.
RBVAL9		 The moon just popped up. I was hoping it would show more. It shows great in the fullsize photo. Take a look.
